First Importance
"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve" ~ 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
The apostle Paul reminds us of the core message entrusted to believers: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, all according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). This foundational truth, received by Paul and passed on to us, is of "first importance" because it addresses humanity's greatest problem, sin, and offers God's ultimate solution. Since this message brings hope, reconciliation with God, and eternal life, sharing this good news is not merely an option but a vital calling for every follower of Christ. Therefore, we should be compelled by love and gratitude to proclaim boldly the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus to a world desperately in need of His saving grace.
